What an amazing paranormal romance that I couldn’t wait to start reading too! Okay, I just enjoy all of Ms. Jade Christy’s vampire stories, and they are quickly becoming quite an obsession for me to get them and read them all. Sure, they don’t take long to read because they are fast-paced page-turners, but also Ms. Christy writes wonderfully well. It begs the question: Are vampires overdone and old? No, I can say that I relish them all and even though this book is similar to her other vampire tales, this one is different, with a magical place in Nivara that I hate to admit it, but I want to visit too. I did notice the villain, Darian’s name, changed only once to Darius, but this didn’t really detract from the tale. Plus, I think Dominic was just showing how angry he was at the situation. I still enjoyed him. I did have a big girl crush on Cassandra though. Well, onto the next book!

This is a unique Vampire story, that had me hooked from the beginning! Cassie and Dominic are a good match, as they are fated mates. Of course some love the idea of be able to live in the sun and some are opposed. A great beginning that I Recommend! I Loved It!!.

This story is unique and intriguing. I loved the dynamic of the main characters, and she is awesome. I love when the female main character is a scientist! I would reccomend giving this book a shot if you want a different take on a vampire story than what you normally find.

Dark, seductive, and totally unputdownable—The Light of the Blood is one of those series openers that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. Jade Christy introduces a shadowy world where vampires are not just bloodthirsty—they’re political, calculating, and determined to claw their way back to dominance...
...Christy’s writing has this haunting, cinematic quality that makes everything feel visceral. You don’t just read this book—you feel it in your bones. If you’re into morally gray characters, high-stakes politics, and dark fantasy with real edge, this is the series starter you’ve been waiting for.

Vampires can come and play in the sunshine now, thanks to an invention by Cassandra Burke. Scientist, scholar, extremely hot and expert level “not like the other girls”, Cassandra has devoted her life to all things vampy, and when she is invited to study newly discovered vampire texts she's hopping on the next flight to the ancient city of Nivara.
Meanwhile in vampire society, things are not well. While the American vamps have embraced Cassandra’s “Lumiere” formula, the Europeans, always a stickler for tradition, are not so pleased. Vampires are the night, power, blood, not prancing about with lesser species. While some do take advantage of being able to see the sun and live a “normal” life, anti-Lumiere factions have risen and things are getting violent. While Cassandra works on the old texts, falls in love with Nivara’s regent and attends parties and council meetings, those factions begin to plot and act...
